Registered Veterinary Technician

Hi, my name is Emily, and I am the Oncology Department RVT at TruVet Specialty & Emergency Hospital. I am passionate about providing quality care and reassurance to the owners and patients who come to us during some of the most uncertain times in their lives. At home I share my life with three dogs: Luna, a Chihuahua; Zola, a Terrier/Chihuahua mix; and Lieutenant Dan, also a Terrier/Chihuahua mix — each one with their own distinct personality.

Personal Hobbies and Interests

Outside of work, I love reading, dancing, and spending time with my family — especially my son. We also make regular pilgrimages to Disneyland, which never gets old.

Favorite Part of My Job

Navigating a pet's illness is never easy for a family, and I feel privileged to be part of the team that helps owners feel informed, supported, and less alone through the process.

Why I Chose This Profession

I was drawn to veterinary medicine by the opportunity to truly make a difference — both for animals and for the people who love them. Being able to provide quality care and genuine reassurance to owners is what keeps me going every day.

Work History

I bring 12.5 years of experience in veterinary medicine, including 6 years as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Before stepping fully into clinical care, I trained service dogs at Bergin University of Canine Studies and spent several years as an adoption coordinator in animal rescue — experiences that gave me a well-rounded perspective on animal welfare and the human-animal bond. That foundation continues to shape the way I approach every patient and family I work with today.
