Your Pet's Appointment

Non-Emergency Cases

Before Your Appointment

Cute bull dog with the vet tech / assistant To help us create an efficient and informed diagnostic plan, please ensure that your primary veterinarian sends your pet's medical records in advance.

Records may be emailed to [email protected] or faxed to (707) 787-5341

If you need to change your appointment time, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance as a courtesy to other patients

If your pet is scheduled for surgery, ultrasound, endoscopy, or any procedure that may require sedation or anesthesia, do not feed your pet after midnight the night before your appointment. If you are unsure whether fasting is required, please contact us at (707) 940-8444 for guidance.

Please bring:

  • All current medications, including prescription, over-the-counter, and supplements
  • Enough food for at least two days if your pet is on a special diet and may stay for a procedure or hospitalization

Day Of Your Appointment

cute doggy at the vetPlease arrive on time for your scheduled appointment and contact us if you anticipate being late. While we make every effort to accommodate delays, late arrivals may require your pet to be admitted as a drop-off patient or your appointment to be rescheduled.

Upon arrival:

  • Check in at the reception desk
  • Your pet's weight and vital signs will be obtained
  • A physical examination will be performed
  • Medical records from your primary veterinarian will be reviewed
  • For Specialty Appointments, medical records from your primary veterinarian will be reviewed, if applicable

Your specialist will discuss findings with you and work collaboratively to develop a treatment plan that best meets your pet's needs. A detailed estimate for the agreed plan will then be reviewed with you by a member of our medical team.

Your pet's comfort and safety are a top priority. Please note that we cannot be responsible for personal belongings such as carriers, beds, leashes, or other personal items. If your pet is admitted, we ask that these items be taken home with you.

Discharge

Once your pet's procedure or hospitalization is complete, a member of our medical team will review all discharge instructions with you and answer any questions. Your primary veterinarian will be updated regarding ongoing care and medical management to ensure continuity after discharge.
