Karen
Veterinary Assistant
Hi, my name is Karen, and I am a Veterinary Assistant at TruVet Specialty & Emergency Hospital. I am passionate about being part of a supportive, growing team and bringing my best to every patient and colleague I work with. At home I share my life with Loki, my Maltipoo; Coda, my Golden Retriever; and MJ, my cat — each one a character in their own right.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I keep busy with an eclectic mix of passions. I am currently learning Hebrew and ASL, and I love staying active through hiking, kayaking, snowboarding, surfing, yoga, and dance. I also enjoy ceramics, horticulture and indoor plants, cooking, and travelling whenever I get the chance.
Favorite Part of My Job
Being part of a supportive, thriving team is what I value most. Veterinary medicine is a collaborative field, and I find real fulfilment in showing up every day for my colleagues and our patients alike.
Why I Chose This Profession
My advice to anyone entering veterinary medicine is simple: be open to learning and growing every day. That mindset is what drew me to this field and continues to drive me.
Education
I completed my studies in Medical Assisting at Front Range Community College, and veterinary care became the perfect place to put that foundation to work in a setting I truly love.
