Hi, my name is Lety, and I am a Veterinary Assistant at TruVet. I joined the team in January 2021 and bring calm hands, a kind heart, and a genuine passion for making a difference — for pets, for people, and for my team.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I love hiking local trails and gardening anything that will grow. At home I share life with my husband, our child, and a delightfully themed fur-and-scale family: Wasabi the Husky, Blue the Russian Blue cat, Miso the domestic shorthair, and Udon the Sulcata tortoise.

What inspires me most about working at TruVet is making a difference — for pets, for people, and for my team — one thoughtful, compassionate interaction at a time.
Why I Chose This Profession
I have always been passionate about animals and science, and veterinary medicine gave me the perfect way to bring those two loves together. Every day I get to make a genuine impact, and that sense of purpose keeps me motivated.
Education
I hold a B.S. in Biology and am Fear Free Certified. I also completed an internship at the Oakland Zoo and contributed to a Western Pond Turtle research project — so yes, I am equally comfortable with whiskers and shells.

My background spans general medicine, emergency care, dentistry, and oncology, giving me a broad clinical foundation. My Fear Free certification and research background reflect my commitment to thoughtful, evidence-informed animal care.

I began my career in a hybrid practice covering both general medicine and emergency care, gaining experience in dentistry, emergency, and oncology before joining TruVet.
